For this hanging design I have used a floral foam wreath ring. I've tied on three loops equally spaced around the wreath using paper-covered wire (although green string would be equally suitable), so that I can attach three long red and green tartan ribbons to hang the design. It's important to make sure the hanger loops are equally spaced, and the ribbons exactly the same length, or the design will not hang correctly. I've edged the outside of the wreath with Hedera helix (Ivy) leaves, and the inside with red sisal, then covered the rest of the ring with groups of different types of foliage, this being Thuya, Picea pungens, and Heuchera "Stormy Seas", as well as more Hedera. I've also added some Mistletoe for a festive feel, so if you hang this somewhere where you can entice the object of your desire to stand under it, you might get lucky!! Three groups of trailing variegated Ivy have also been added. I've used nine red Gerbera, in three groups of three, and some red artificial berries for added colour. Finally, I've added three matching bows where the three hangers are. This design would look stunning outside on a hanging basket bracket, or even several the same hanging in a row outside the house. You could also have this hanging low in the centre of the Christmas table. |
