FLORAL DESIGNS FOR CHRISTMAS

CHRISTMAS DESIGN 27

This arrangement has been made in a glass container which sits inside a gold spiral holder. In the top of the container is a plastic dish which holds floral foam for the mechanics, and this has been covered with lime-green sisal to help hide the foam. The materials used are a mixture of fresh, dried and artificial. On the right of the design, I have used fresh Fatsia japonica leaves which have been trimmed to a point. Inserted through these leaves is some gold-sprayed Bear Grass (Xerophyllum tenax) which cascades down. On the left, I have used some fresh Fatsia japonica aurea leaves. For the height, a stem of gold-sprayed Corylus avellana "Contorta" (Contorted Hazel) has been used, and some smaller stems of this have been added at the front of the design. Artificial white Oriental Lilies have been used for the focal flowers. I have added some gold glitter wicker balls for Christmas sparkle, and gold artificial Eucalyptus leaves. Two stems of gold wavy cane have been looped through the centre of the design to give enclosed space. Finally, a gold organza bow completes the design.
