This arrangement was the third one of four which I made for a demonstration to Bromsgrove & District Flower Arranging Society in December 2003.

This is a very contemporary design, made in a galvanized tall vase. This sits on a silver plate with some purple velvet folded around it. I have used dri-foam for the mechanics, and this has been covered by a ring of purple sisal, which has been wound round with silver cord. I have used a sheaf of silver-sprayed birch twigs, pinned into position, and into these I have added three artificial purple and silver Lilies, and some silver and purple artificial Twisted Willow. Three tall silver candle holders with purple candles have been added to give height. The design has been wrapped around with wide purple Sinamay ribbon, and this has been held in place with some silver-sprayed Lotus seed heads, to which small magnets have been glued. These stick to the side of the metal container and add another dimension to the design. Finally, some glass icicles have been hung from the twigs.
