FLORAL DESIGNS FOR CHRISTMAS

CHRISTMAS DESIGN 22

This arrangement was the first one of four which I made for a demonstration to Bromsgrove & District Flower Arranging Society in December 2003.

I have used a silver spiral candlestick, with four pink candles. Around the candlestick, I have wound some silver ting-ting, and secured it in position with some narrow wired silver rope. The arrangement at the base is in a pink and silver colour scheme, and I have used rolled Astelia chatamica leaves (these have been rolled to show the underside, which is a beautiful silvery colour), secured by staples. Other foliage used is Brunnera macrophylla "Jack Frost", purple Loropetalum "Pipa's Red", and Fatsia japonica variegata. Flowers used are pink Roses, pink standard Carnations, and cerise Dendrobiums (Singapore Orchids). To fill any gaps, I have used fine silver angel hair, which is a good substitute for Reindeer Moss at Christmas! For accent, I have added a silver metal wire sphere, with some small silver baubles inside.
