Here's an incredibly simple design! I have selected a suitably sized terracotta flower pot, and sprayed it gold. Then I have added a Christmassy bow around the rim of the pot, glueing it into position. Finally, I have used a large pine cone, around 8" tall, sprayed gold, and glued it into the pot. Two of these either side of a mantlepiece or window ledge would look very effective.
