TEUCRIUM FRUTICANS
Common Name: Shrubby Germander
Family: Labiatae/Lamiacae

This is an evergreen shrub with grey-green leaves, which are white beneath. The stems are also white. It produces small but very pretty blue flowers in summer (shown below). Needs a sheltered, well-drained site in full sun to do well.

Note that woolly or grey foliage should never be immersed in water when conditioning, as it absorbs too much water and loses its grey appearance. It returns as the plant material dries out, but for immediate effect, only immerse the stem ends. Another note of caution - don't arrange grey or woolly stems arching downwards, or touching the rim of the container, as they may syphon water out of the container and ruin polished surfaces, etc.
