The theme of these designs is "Take Five Flowers". The idea is to show how different flowers can look when used in a design where only five flowers must be used. I've used the same basic foliage design for all three of the above arrangements, just substituting different flowers. I've used a ceramic orchid pot cover for the container, with floral foam for the mechanics. The height is established with Phormium tenax purpureum, and some curved stems of cornus stolonifera flaviramea have been placed on the right. More stems of this have been looped and used as a group at the front for rhythm. Other foliage used is conifer, Laurus 'Castlewellan', Hedera colchica 'Sulphur Heart' , Heuchera and Loropetalum chinense 'Fire Dance'. In the first design on the left, I have used Gerberas for the five flowers. I've also used the cut-off stems within the design to add interest. In the centre picture, I've used standard Carnations, and on the right, I've used deep orange Roses. | ||
