HOSTA
Common Name: Plantain Lily
Family: Liliaceae

Hostas are one of my favourite foliage plants. They are hardy herbaceous perennials, and many of them have lovely flowers of white or shades of lavender. The foliage can be very small, or exceedingly large, depending on the variety. These Hostas below are good yellow ones, which I grow in my garden. 'Aurea' has medium sized leaves, a lovely soft yellow in spring, fading to yellow-green as the year progresses. 'Sum and Substance' is a very large-leaved Hosta with yellowy-green leaves.
