For this Easter design, I have used a pale blue metal container, with floral foam for the meachanics. For the height, I've used Corylus avellana ‘Contorta’, to give some rhythm to the design, and around the edge of the foam I grouped some variegated Pittosporum and foliage of various Ivies; Hedera ‘Sulphur Heart’, Hedera ‘Gloire de Marengo’ and Hedera helix ‘Midas Touch’. I also used Teucrium scorodonia ‘Crispa’ for filling in. The flowers used were blue Hyacinths and yellow Ranunculus, which have been grouped for effect. Finally, at the front of the design, I've added three egg shells, which I dyed pale blue with food colouring to match the container. I made some indentations in the foam so that the egg shells were upright and stable, filled the shells with water, and used a small square of floral foam inside each shell to hold daffodils 'Tête à Tête', and 'Rip van Winkle'. Three more dyed eggs have been grouped at the base of the container to carry the theme through. |
