I love doing all-foliage designs, as there is so much lovely foliage around to use that it's not always necessary to use flowers! This arrangement has been made using an upturned shallow bowl for a base, with a green plastic florists' saucer and floral foam for the mechanics.
Clockwise from the top, around the outside of the design, I have used Phormium tenax, Equisetum hyemalis, Aspidistra elatior variegata, curled Phormium tenax 'Maori Queen', Hedera helix 'Buttercup', Ligustrum aureum, Vitis coignetiae, Hedera 'Sulphur Heart', Euonymus 'Silver Queen', Hosta, Fatsia japonica variegata, Geranium palmatum, more curled Phormium tenax 'Maori Queen', and Hedera helix 'Conglomerata'. In the centre of the design, I have used red Leucadendrum 'Red Sunset' (which is acceptable as foliage under NAFAS rules, as they are actually bracts, which are modified leaves), with plaited and looped Phormium tenax 'Maori Queen', and Tradescantia directly under this, with Hakonechloa macra albo-aurea (a yellow striped grass) just to the right.
