For this design, I have used a square galvanized container, with floral foam for the mechanics. I have constructed a square pyramid from shiny galvanized chicken wire, to repeat the colour of the container, and to give some height and a touch of "pazazz" to the design! This was fixed onto the centre of the floral foam, using stub wires bent into a hairpin shape. The design is made to be viewed from all sides, and looks different on each side (see other views, below). For foliage, I have used Hedera "Anne Marie", Buxus sempervirens (Box), Heuchera "Pewter Veil", Fatsia japonica variegata, Hedera "Sulphur Heart", Hebe "Silver Dollar", and Arachniodes adiantiformis (Leatherleaf Fern). Flowers used were Lilium "Stargazer", pink Roses, magenta Carnations, "Kermit" Chrysanthemums, and Eryngium "Blue Star". All the flowers were from the florist, and all the foliage except the Arachniodes was from the garden. |
