This design is a large posy style, around 24" in diameter. It is made in a plastic saucer, with floral foam for the mechanics. I began by defining the shape with foliage, adding the filler flowers next, then the focal flowers in the centre, which were the "Stargazer" Lilies. Foliage used was Taxus baccata (Yew), Pittosporum tobira variegata, Hedera (Ivy) and a beautiful fern with silver undersides of which, unfortunately, the wholesaler didn't know the name. I used this fern with the underside showing, as its colour was so lovely. Flowers used were "Stargazer" Lilies, white standard Carnations, pink spray Carnations, and pink Roses. Some Ivy berries were added to give a change of texture, form and colour. |
