This design was inspired by this lovely black ceramic vase. I decided that as it has such a sculptural shape, it needed a sculptural style of arrangement. I have used black sprayed stems of Salix matsudana 'Tortuosa' (Twisted Willow) for the height, and have added massed red roses for a strong contast of form, colour and texture. Two more red roses have been added further down the design, through the handle of the vase, to bring the colour through the design. These have been cut short and the stems inserted into small orchid tubes. The tubes were then stuck to the vase with floral fix. Finally, two black sprayed wicker spheres were added at the base of the design, for their form and texture, and to repeat the colour of the vase. No foliage has been used at all in this design.
