For this design, I used a tall black ceramic vase. Inside the vase, I have used a black plastic flower pot which has the drainage holes blocked with hot-melt glue so that it holds water. The floral foam sits inside this pot. This is a traditional triangle design. For the height, I have used some Salix tortuosa (tortured Willow) stems which I have sprayed black, to match the vase. The flowers used are red standard Carnations, red Chrysamthemums, bright pink spray Carnations, yellow Solidaster, yellow Narcissus 'Pippit', and pink 'Stargazer' lilies for the focal flowers. Foliage used is Phormium tenax variegata, Berberis thunbergia purpurea, Fatsia japonica and Mahonia bealii. The Narcissus 'Pippit' was from the garden, and the rest of the flowers were from the florist. All the foliage was from the garden. |
