This design uses all spring flowers and foliage. It is made in a neutral coloured square container, with floral foam for the mechanics. For the height, I have used some Tilia (Lime) stems which are just coming into leaf, and have lovely shiny brown stems, and these have been tied with green raffia to keep them in a bundle. On the left of the design, some Daffodils have been bundled to give a block of colour towards the top of the design. A group of yellow Tulips have been placed on the right, and to the left of these is a group of Mahonia bealii flowers. In the centre of the design are some rolled Hedera (Ivy) leaves, which have been grouped. Some Xerophyllum tenax (Bear Grass) has been grouped and looped around the design. At the base of the design is a collar of Forsythia x intermedia flowers. Some Cladonia rangifera (Reindeer Moss) has been added to give another texture, and to help cover the mechanics. The Daffodils, Tulips, Bear Grass and Reindeer Moss were all from the florist, the rest of the material was from the garden. |
