For this design I have used a simple neutral coloured vase, and four beautiful Calla lilies (Zantedeschia). The Calla lilies already had graceful curves, but by bending them more and tying them into position with green raffia, a more abstract design is achieved. One Fatsia japonica variegata leaf, and a small bunch of Liriope variegata leaves are all that is needed in the way of foliage. To complete the design, some gold wired stems have been twined around the Calla stems, and two gold Lotus seed heads (Nelumbo nucifera) have been added. There is no floral foam used here, so all the plant material has been placed carefully into the neck of the vase, but is very stable. The calla lilies, Liriope leaves and gold materials were from the Florist, and the Fatsia japonica leaf was from the garden.
