(Afternoon Beginner's Class, 11.11.08)

This autumn-hued arrangement incorporating a large candle in shades of orange has been made in a contemporary grouped style, and I've used a round basket, with floral foam for the mechanics. The candle forms the height, and the grouped foliage used is Hedera colchica 'Gloire de Marengo', Hedera colchica 'Sulphur Heart', Fatshedera lizei 'Anna Mieke' and Hebe. The flowers used have been grouped to give more impact, and are orange Lilies, red Roses, deep red spray Chrysanthemums and lime green spray Chrysanthemums. For added interest I've also used some grouped Hypericum berries, and three overlapping loops of Xerophyllum tenax (Bear Grass).
