DESIGN 33

Here's a semi-crescent design with a difference. It is a traditional shape, but using a more modern approach. I have used a tall black metal candlestick, which has a small plastic saucer with floral foam taped to the top. For this type of design to be successful, curved plant material must be used for the outline, and I have used glycerined Laurel leaves, (these turn deep brown or black when glycerined), which have been wired to form a curved branching unit. Some individual leaves have also been used. Other foliage used is Heuchera 'Chocolate Ruffles'. Six Roses have been used to bring colour to the design, and three small apples form the focal point. Just under the apples, I have used a lime-green paper ribbon bow. To echo this colour, I have used some small green bananas (well - bananas are curved plant material aren't they?!!)
