This design has been made in a blue ceramic vase, with floral foam for the mechanics. All the flowers and foliage used were from a single bunch of supermarket flowers, with the addition of just two stems of corkscrew hazel and three Hedera colchica 'Sulphur Heart' leaves from the garden, and some green sisal. The height has been established with the corkscrew hazel, Corylus avellana 'Contorta'. Rosettes of Rhododendron ponticum have been used on the left, and some of its larger leaves have been rolled and stapled, and grouped at the front of the design. On the right, Hedera colchica 'Sulphur Heart' foliage has been used. A stem of Rosmarinus foliage curves at the back, whilst Rose foliage has been grouped on the right. The flowers used are three blue Agapanthus, and five red roses. Three stems cut from the Agapanthus have been grouped on the right for a horizontal accent. For extra interest, three small balls of green sisal have been added at the front and pinned into position. |
