Here are a pair of conical arrangements, which would look great either side of a mantlepiece, or a window ledge. They are both made the same, on a floral foam cone shape, which has been glued onto a white pottery container. Starting at the base of the design is a row of glycerined Laurel leaves which have been pinned to the foam to form a "frill" around the bottom edge of the design. Above that is a row of artificial Hydrangea flowers. Then comes a row of green reindeer moss (Cladonia rangifera), pinned into position with wire pins. Above that comes a row of white paper ribbon, glued into position. Next comes a row of artificial blue-black berries. Then a row of hemp ribbon, again glued into position, with a sprinkling of the artificial blue-black berries used lower down (see detail picture below). Above that comes another row of the white paper ribbon, then some artificial green leaves glued into position and tied around with raffia. Then another row of the white paper ribbon, and finally, the top of the cone is covered with more green reindeer moss, with some more berries scattered around it. |
