This design has been made in a wooden dish, with floral foam for the mechanics. The floral foam is in a plastic dish which sits inside the wooden container. I began with a collar of Fatsia japonica leaves, then a ring of lime green sisal. The flowers have all been grouped for effect, and were pink Gerberas, pink Roses, pink standard Carnations, and green spray Chrysanthemums which have been wrapped in Ivy leaves (see closeup picture, below). The groups of flowers have been interspersed with groups of Picea pungens (blue Spruce) and Taxus baccata (Yew) foliage, to give a change of form and colour. Finally, I've added some small natural wicker balls, to repeat the colour of the container, and to add interest to the design.
