This arrangement is a horizontal design, which would be suitable for a table centre, or wedding top table design, or a window ledge, or a funeral tribute (known in the floristry trade as a double-ended funeral spray). It is made using a plastic rectangular container, with floral foam for the mechanics. The design should be no more than 9" tall at its highest point. I have defined the shape using foliage of Cordyline australis purpurea, Aucuba japonica, Fatsia japonica 'Aurea' and Lonicera nitida 'Lemon Beauty', with some Heuchera ' Plum Pudding' and Ivy foliage in the centre to add depth and some blue conifer to help hide the mechanics. I've used five stems of pink spray Carnations, five large pink Gerberas for the focal flowers, two stems of Eryngium (Sea Holly) for extra interest and two stems of deep pink Chamelaucium uncinatum (Waxflower) for fillers. Recession is achieved with two stems of lime green spray Chrysanthemums, used singly. |
