Like the previous design, this is a traditional symmetrical triangle design. For this one, I've used a tall orange ceramic container, with floral foam for the mechanics, and chosen a warm colour scheme of orange and yellow to tone with the container. I've used Leucodendron foliage for the height and to define the outline, and some Corylus avellana 'Contorta' (Contorted Hazel) to add rhythm to the design. Other foliage used is Laurel, Fatshedera lizei and Hedera colchica 'Sulphur Heart'. The flowers used are orange Roses for the focal flowers, and to pick up the colour of the container, yellow spray Carnations, and some yellow-dyed Chamelaucium uncinatum (Waxflower). Finally, I've added some of the dried spore-bearing fronds of the fern Matteuccia struthiopteris (Shuttlecock Fern), which are like feathers in form, and velvet in texture! The brown of these fronds adds a nice colour tone to the design. |
