This is a contemporary design in a basket. I've used an oval basket with silver metal handles and feet, and floral foam for the mechanics. I began by adding some curving stems of silver Twisted Willow (Salix matsudana 'Tortuosa') for the height, then pinning on more of this horizontally. The flowers and foliage have been grouped for effect, and these were white roses and green Carnations, with foliage of Fatsia japonica 'Aurea' at the front, Hedera colchica 'Sulphur Heart' at the back, and two diagonal groups of Aspidistra elatior, which have been curled on the ends. Circles of lime-green sisal add texture and interest. Finally, I've added two groups of three scented wicker balls, one group at the front and one at the back, and these pick up the colour and texture of the basket. |
