For this design, I've used a lilac coloured ceramic container, with floral foam for the mechanics. It's a contemporary design, using a small amount of plant material - just one Anthurium, and nine Carnations, plus a small amount of foliage. The colour scheme is lilac and pale green. I've covered the mechanics with some lilac coloured sisal, which matches the container exactly. For the main body of the design, I've used two Fatsia japonica aureomarginata leaves on the right, giving an asymmetrical look to the design. These are balanced on the left with a group of Hedera helix leaves. A lovely green Anthurium flower gives a good focal point. Behind this, I've used some green "Prado" Carnations, low in the design. To bring height and accent, I've used six plastic orchid tubes. To get the effect, I've added wire legs to the tubes, and taped them with florists' stem tape. Different length wires give different heights to the tubes. I've then covered the tubes with lilac coloured sisal, which has been bound with silver bullion wire to secure it. In the top of each tube, I've added a "Prado" Carnation, to bring the colour through from the base of the design. | ||
