For this arrangement incorporating fruit, I've used a blue ceramic vase, with floral foam for the mechanics. For the height, I've used two Phormium tenax variegata leaves. Other foliage used is Fatsia japonica aureovariegata, Hedera colchica "Sulphur Heart", and Viburnum davidii. The focal flowers are yellow Lilies, with a group of yellow standard Carnations on the left of these. To bring the colour of the vase through the arrangement, I've used a group of several stems of blue curly "Ting-Ting", and some blue Eryngium (Sea Holly). The fruit I've used here are Citrus limon (Lemon), and Asclepias physocarpa. I've cut the Lemon into several slices, and threaded three of them onto a wooden barbecue stick, which is arranged upright in the design to give an unusual accent. Two more slices have been arranged horizontally at the front of the design. The two ends of the lemon are arranged at the base of the vase to bring the colour right down through the arrangement. The Asclepias physocarpa have been arranged in a group on the right of the design, with a single fruit attached to a piece of Corylus avellana "Contorta" which has been sprayed blue and has been arranged diagonally across the design. | |
