DESIGN 216

This is a traditional style asymmetrical triangle design. This is similar to a symmetrical triangle, but in this case, one side is longer than the other. It is made in a basic plastic dish, with one third of a block of floral foam for the mechanics. The shape was first defined with linear material, arranged in an asymmetrical triangular shape, and here I have used Phormium tenax purpurea and Cordyline, with Cotoneaster, used upside down to show the lovely white underside, and Eucalyptus. Some Hedera colchica "Sulphur Heart" leaves have also been used in the centre for a change of form and texture, with Hedera helix leaves to help cover the mechanics. The flowers used are five stems of pink spray Carnations, three stems of Stargazer Lilies for the focal flowers, seven crimson standard carnations to help define the shape, and one large stem of white Waxflower (Chamelaucium uncinatum) for the intermediate (or filler) flowers. Some of the foliage from the Waxflower has also been used. Green spray Chrysanthemums (2 stems) have been used for recession.
