DESIGN 213

This is a posy-style design, and is made in a plastic container with floral foam for the mechanics. I began by defining the shape and height with linear foliage, Cotoneaster and Lonicera nitida. The shape should be round and slightly domed at the centre. It's a good idea to check the shape as you go along by turning the arangement round frequently, and also looking at it from above. This will ensure that you are getting a good circular shape. I then added a few pieces of China Grass around the outside, for interest. Then I added 5 stems of white spray Carnations, making sure that they were evenly distributed around and across the design. 10 lovely pink Roses were then added for the focal flowers, again making sure they were evenly distributed throughout the design. Some mauve Freesias added some transitional shape. Green button Chrysanthemums were used for recession and to add some colour. Finally, just a touch of white Gypsophila gives a nice texture.
