DESIGN 212 DESIGN 212 reverse side

This arrangement is made in a large basket, and is meant to be viewed all round. The pictures above show both sides of the design. I've used a plastic container with floral foam for the mechanics, and this is raised up inside the basket by using scrunched up newspaper. This saves having to use a lot of floral foam. I've chosen an autumnal colour scheme of brown, orange, red and yellow, which tones well with the basket. I've taken several long trails of Ivy and wired them either side of the handle, to give the effect that the Ivy is climbing round the handle. I've grouped some foliage around the edge of the basket, and this includes Hosta, Hedera colchica 'Sulphur Heart', Heuchera 'Stormy Seas', and Rubus tricolour. Flowers used are Carnations, Roses, Hydrangea 'Annabelle', Gerbera and Hedera helix, and these have all been grouped. I've also added three dark brown wicker balls, to repeat the colour and texture of the basket. I've also used some copper bullion wire which has been scrunched up and gives an interesting effect to the design, although it's not very visible in the pictures!
