FLORAL DESIGNS

DESIGN 200

For this design I have used a flat red square dish, with a small plastic dish on top with floral foam for the mechanics. I've covered the plastic dish and foam with some dark green sisal to hide them. For the height, I've used some Phormium tenax leaves, and I've also curled and stapled a couple of these leaves. Some large leaves of Hedera helix have also been used at the base of the design. Just five red Gerberas add colour and pick up the colour of the dish. I have also taken some of the green sisal and made it into small circles, which I've bound with yellow-green bullion wire to keep them in position and to add interest. These have been recessed and pinned into position (see closeup below).

A closeup view of the sisal circles bound with bullion wire.
