FLORAL DESIGNS

This green vase is one of my favourite containers, as it is so versatile. A standard green florists saucer fits neatly into the neck of it, so I only need to use one third of a block of floral foam for the mechanics. I have used Phormium tenax for the height, with a group of Phlomis russelliana seed heads to the right. Two large white Agapanthus give texture to the arrangement. White Carnations have been grouped lower down, with some more Phlomis seed heads and Agapanthus cut short and recessed to the left. Other foliage used is xFatshedera lizei, Mahonia japonica, and Chlorophytum comosum (Spider Plant). Corylus avellana 'Contorta' has been added for extra interest. Two fans of pleated cellophane add a translucent quality. A green velvet base has been used, with a grouping of glass marbles to echo the translucent look of the cellophane.
