This design has been made in a round wicker basket with two handles, and inside there is a plastic bowl with floral foam for the mechanics. The design is made to be viewed from all round, and the picture shows the arrangement from two different angles. First, I have used some lime-green sisal which has been wound round the edge of the floral foam to add texture, and to help cover the mechanics. For the height, I have used a couple of stems of Corylus avellana "Contorta" (Contorted Hazel). The foliage used has been grouped, and this is Arum italicum "Marmoratum", Hedera colchica "Sulphur Heart", Fatsia japonica aurea, and Tellima grandiflora. The flowers have also been grouped, and have been arranged in the European parallel style. The flowers used were 8 pink Tulips, 3 single Lilium "Stargazer", 5 "Prado" Carnations, and 6 pink Roses. A group of green "Yoko Ono" spray Chrysanthemums and some Hedera helix berries have been added low down for interest, texture and a contrast of colour. A small amount of green Cladonia rangifera (Reindeer Moss) has been added as a group and also recessed to help cover the mechanics. |
