DESIGN 180

This is a small arrangement, made in a breakfast cup and saucer. When making such an arrangement, the size and colouring of the cup and saucer used must be taken into account, and small flowers which echo the colouring must be chosen. My cup and saucer in this instance is white, so I have incorporated some white flowers to bring the colour through the design. I have used a small piece of floral foam for the mechanics, which fits neatly into the cup, and is around 1" taller than the rim of the cup. I have chosen a posy-style design, which is suited to the shape of the cup and saucer. Small foliage was selected, and this was Eucalyptus, and some small leaves of Hedera helix (Ivy). Small flowers were chosen, and these were 5 cream Roses which were the focal flowers, one stem of small yellow button Chrysanthemums, a few individual heads of very pale pink Aster nova-belgie (Michaelmas Daisies), one small stem of pale yellow Statice, and a small stem of Gypsophila, which is one of the few pure white flowers available.
