This is a very traditional arrangement, made in a rectangular basket with a handle. As the basket isn't lined, I have used a plastic dish inside it to hold floral foam for the mechanics. I have kept the design low, so that the handle can be seen. This would be very important if the basket was to be used as a presentation gift, as the handle must be free of flowers and foliage so that the recipient can hold it without fumbling through the flowers to find the handle. I have used a variety of foliage, including Cotoneaster (to define the outline and shape), Hedera helix, and Pittosporum tenuifolium. The flowers used are 3 stems of pink Lilium 'Stargazer' (the quantity would depend on how may flowers were on each stem), 5 pink Roses, 5 stems of deep pink spray Carnations (again the quantity depends on how full the stems are), and 2 stems of green spray Chrysanthemums for recession, and to add a visual lift to the otherwise very pink arrangement! Compare the style of this arrangement with other basket arrangements in design136, design155, and design175. |
