FLORAL DESIGNS

DESIGN 166

This is an arrangement which incorporates water as part of the design. I have used a low blue ceramic dish, with a small square of floral foam for the mechanics. I have stuck two small plastic frogs to the container with floral fix to secure the foam, as taping it into position was not an option, as the tape would show. (Remember to use the floral fix when the container is completely dry, otherwise it will not stick effectively.) For the height, I have used Phormium tenax purpurea, and other foliage used at the base is Hedera colchica 'Sulphur Heart', Hedera helix 'Buttercup', and Rubus tricolor. I have used blue Iris to pick out the colour of the container, with orange Roses and orange Gerbera as a complementary colour. A few green spray Chrysanthemums add colour and recession. After filling the container with water, I have added some blue glass chips, and three blue candle holders with candles, to give added interest. A closeup of these can be seen below.
