In this design, I have used Oasis® Rainbow Foam, in three colours - yellow, fuchsia and violet. I have used a glass bowl with a foot, and I have filled the well of the foot with chips of the Rainbow Foam. I have used a small block of violet Rainbow Foam for the mechanics, and some more Rainbow Foam chips around this block, for added texture and colour. The flowers were chosen to tone with the Rainbow Foam. When using Rainbow Foam, it forms part of the design, and should, therefore, be seen. What you mustn't do is to keep putting stems in and taking them out again, as every hole will show! Be very sure of where you want your stems before inserting them! I began by adding some medium sized Ivy leaves in two groups, opposite each other. These were Hedera colchica 'Sulphur Heart', and Hedera colchica variegata. Then I added two Heuchera 'Plum Pudding' leaves, again opposite each other, to give colour balance. I then added a group of 5 yellow Roses, and two groups of 4 violet Tulips. I finished the design by adding a few loops of Flexi Grass to give added rhythm and interest to the design. |
