I have used a shallow aluminium dish for this design, with floral foam for the mechanics. I have incorporated four Abalone shells into the design, three large ones, and one small one. These are beautifully irridescent inside, and are lovely to look at. Shells seem to be coming back into fashion again! The shells are fixed into position with wires which have been attached using a glue gun. The flowers used have been grouped so that they form blocks of colour, and these are red standard Carnations, red Gerberas and red Roses. I have also added some bold foliage of Fatshedera lizei and Hedera colchica 'Sulphur Heart'. Inside the three large shells, I have used a very small piece of floral foam, and inserted one red Gerbera into each one. I have covered the foam with some red sisal so that it cannot be seen. The picture shows the arrangement viewed from above. |
