This arrangement is a traditional L-shaped design. This design would be suitable to use in the corner of a windowsill, or a church window, or two either end of a church altar, or a mantelpiece, so it is quite versatile. The design is similar to an asymmetrical triangle, but one side is kept much lower than the other, and is longer, to form the L-shape, which can be left or right-handed, whichever suits your purpose. To form the outline of the design, I have used Berberis thunbergii atropurpurea, a lovely purple-leaved shrub, which goes very well with the pink flowers used. Other foliage used was Mahonia japonica, Hedera colchica 'Sulphur Heart' and Liriope muscari variegata (Lily Grass). The flowers used were all pink, and for the focal point I have used Lilies. Other flowers used were Roses, spray Carnations, and spray Chrysanthemums. |
