DESIGN 15

This design is made in a low rectangular container, which I have sprayed purple. Floral foam is used for the mechanics. It is designed to be viewed from all sides, and this picture shows one side. On the left is a group of lovely purple Gladioli. The green foliage to the right of these is Rhodocoma gigantea, a Restio from South Africa. Some curled gold-sprayed cane gives height in the centre, and there are some gold beads threaded onto these to give added interest. To the right of these is a group of purple Dutch Iris. The dark leaves on the right are Heuchera 'Palace Purple'. In the front right-hand corner is some purple velvet fabric, which actually winds its way through the arrangement diagonally to the other side, although you can't see this in the picture. The fabric is wound round with gold-coloured wire on which more gold beads have been threaded. Some deep pink roses are grouped in the centre front of the design, and to the right of these is another Heuchera, 'Mint Frost'. To the centre-right is one of two gold painted wicker balls. The other one can be seen from the other side (see below).

This view is from the opposite side of the arrangement. The Gladioli, gold cane, Rhodocoma gigantea and Iris can be seen from both sides. Deep pink Carnations are grouped at the front on this side, and the purple velvet fabric with the gold wire and beads can be seen in the bottom right-hand corner. The foliage in the left-hand corner is xFatsherea lizei, and on the right is Heuchera 'Mint Frost'. The second gold wicker ball can be seen in the centre of the design.

DESIGN 15 (REVERSE SIDE)

All the flowers used in this design were from the florist, and all the foliage (except for the Rhodocoma gigantea) was from the garden.
