DESIGN 140

This is a contemporary arrangement incorporating green shiny wire mesh ribbon as part of the design, and is made to be viewed all round. I have used a brown ceramic bowl, with floral foam for the mechanics. I have looped the wire mesh ribbon over the foam, and pinned it into position (see closeup picture, below). Foliage used around the edge of the design is Bergenia "Overture", Fatsia japonica variegata, Cyclamen hederifolium, and Hedera colchica "sulphur Heart". The flowers used have been grouped, and these are, red roses, deep red standard carnations, and red tulips. Some of the tulips have been bent down and attached to the wire mesh ribbon. The top leaves of the tulips have been curled to give added interest and texture. Three red apples have also been added, and groups of green Cladonia rangifera (Reindeer Moss) have been pinned into position to add texture. Finally, I have added groups of Xerophyllum tenax (Bear Grass), looped to follow the curve of the wire mesh ribbon, and groups of red glass beads, interspersed throughout the design, to bring the red colouring through to the base of the design, and to add accent to the design.

This picture shows the green wire mesh ribbon, and the red glass beads interspersed through the design.
