For this arrangement, I have used a round flat basket for the base, with a plastic saucer and floral foam for the mechanics. A piece of driftwood has been used in the centre of the design. To the right of this, I have used Phormium tenax for height. Other foliage used is Palm, Fatsia japonica variegata, Mahonia japonica, Hedera helix "Buttercup", Fatshedera lizei, and burgundy coloured Bergenia "Overture". The flowers have been grouped, and are Standard Carnations, red Tulips and peach Roses. For recession I have used green Chrysanthemum "Kermit". For additional texture I have also added a group of Betula pendula (Silver Birch) twigs on the right, just showing the catkins forming. At the front of the basket, for added interest, I have used a group of terracotta coloured sea-smoothed bricks. These have been out in the garden for some time, and have begun to be weathered, with a covering of moss in places. |
