This design is a traditional symmetrical triangle. It has been made using a terracotta flower pot as container, and this has a plastic saucer with floral foam taped in for the mechanics. To define the shape, I have used Eleagnus pungens maculata, a variegated green and yellow evergreen shrub. Other foliage used is Mahonia japonica, Lonicera pileata, and Hedera helix. Flowers used are five yellow roses for the focal area, five stems of white spray Carnations, and one stem of yellow spray Chrysanthemums for recession. To add interest to the design, I have also used five stems of dried Astilbe chinensis seed heads, which match the terracotta flower pot, and some Corylus avellana "Contorta" (Contorted Hazel) stems. |
