DESIGN 132

This design has been made in a shallow wicker basket with a low handle. The shape is an asymmetrical triangle. For the height I have used two Phormium tenax purpurea leaves, with a third one looped on the right. Other foliage used is Aspidistra elatior variegata, which has been curled and stapled on the ends, Fatsia japonica variegata, trails of Hedera colchica "Sulphur Heart", Mahonia japonica, and Hedera colchica (plain green). Two groups of Xerophyllum tenax (Bear Grass) have been used on the left. Flowers used are two kinds of red roses, variety unknown, three orange Gerberas, red Tulips, red Carnations, red Anigozanthos (Kangaroo Paw), and red Leucadendron. Finally, some Corylus avellana "Contorta" (Contorted Hazel) has been used to give rhythm to the design. This has been coloured with dark tan shoe polish to match the basket.
