DESIGN 130

This design is made using dried materials. I have chosen a brown wicker ring for the container, and a plastic saucer with dri-foam sits in the centre of the ring. The colour scheme is fairly neutral, using just brown, beige and varying shades of green. The materials used are Typha (Bulrush, Cat-tails), a group of brown and gold ting-ting (tied at the top with gold bullion wire to keep it in a neat shape), dried fronds of Matteucia struthiopteris (Shuttlecock Fern), dried fan palm leaves, cut and shaped, dried and dyed Sorghum durra (Durum Wheat), pieces of silvery bark of Eucalyptus niphophila, (used upright in the design), and various dried and dyed curled stems and seed pods of unknown origin. The design is finished with a bow of lime-green paper ribbon. Green Cladonia rangifera (Reindeer Moss) has been used to cover the foam, and to add a textural element into the design.
