This design is a traditional vertical arrangement. It is basically a very slim symmetrical triangle. The design should not come out more than a few inches wider than the container. (For competition work, the design should be kept almost within the width of the container.) I have chosen a plain gold cylindrical container, which has a plastic saucer with floral foam placed into the neck for the mechanics. For the height, I have used Cordyline australis, and the other foliage used is Fatsia japonica variegata, Lonicera pileata and Hedera colchica "Sulphur Heart". For the focal point, I have used 1 stem of orange Lilies, and other flowers used are 5 peach standard Carnations, 5 stems of peach spray carnations, and 3 lovely lime-green Molucella laevis (Bells of Ireland). Finally, to bring the colour of the container through the design, I have added a few stems of gold wavy cane. |
