DESIGN 120

This is a large pedestal design, suitable for a church, or wedding reception. I have used a gold plinth, and a large plastic container with floral foam for the mechanics. The floral foam is stepped, with two blocks standing upright at the back to give height, then two blocks on their side in front of that, with one block flat on top of those. All the floral foam is taped firmly to the container. To establish the height of the design, I have used two large leaves of Phormium tenax. Other foliages used are large Fatsia japonica leaves, Hosta "Sum and Substance", Hedera helix trails, Aspidistra elatior, and some pieces of Physostegia trailing at the front right of the design. Flowers used are 20 pale green standard carnations, 5 stems of Lilium "Stargazer", 10 large flowered pink roses, 3 large "Shamrock" Chrysanthemums, and three stems of white spray Chrysanthemums for recession. To bring through the colour of the pedestal, I have added a few stems of gold ting-ting, and to add interest, I have used five stems of pale green (dyed) curled palm leaves.
