For this design, I have used a large wooden shallow bowl, with a plastic saucer and floral foam in the centre for the mechanics. The design incorporates Oasis® Fabric Wrap, which comes in a variety of colours, and is usually used in packaging flowers. I have taken a length each of two colours, purple and lilac, and wrapped them around each other. Then I wrapped them around the rim of the container to form a circle, and pinned them together. The flowers and foliage are grouped and arranged closely, and the colours used are mainly cerise, lilac and red, with a touch of lime-green for contrast. Foliage used was Pittosporum tenuifolium, Hedera 'Sulphur Heart', Heuchera 'Beauty Colour', Heuchera 'Plum Pudding', and Fatshedera lizei. The flowers used were lime-green Chrysanthemums, cerise spray Carnations, cerise Roses, cerise Gerbera, red Roses, red standard Carnations, lilac Statice limonium and lilac Syringa (Lilac). |
