This is a traditional style posy arrangement, ideal for a table centre or low coffee table. I have used floral foam for the mechanics, and a plain pale wooden container. I decided on a nice fresh yellow and white colour scheme. A posy arrangement is designed to be viewed all the way round, so it must look good from every angle! It must also be circular in shape (or as near circular as you can get!), and the profile should be slightly domed. I began with foliage to get the circular outline and the height, and then filled in with the flowers. The foliage used was Mahonia lomariifolia, Buxus sempervirens, some conifer, and Viburnum tinus. Flowers used were white spray Carnations, white standard Carnations, pale yellow Roses, yellow spray Chrysanthemums, white Lilies, and Gypsophila. |
