RANUNCULUS FICARIA 'BRAZEN HUSSY'
Common Name: Lesser Celandine
Family: Ranunculaceae
A hardy herbaceous tuberous perennial with chocolate-brown, almost black, heart-shaped leaves and bright yellow buttercup-like flowers in early spring. Grows to around 4" tall, and prefers a sunny or partially shaded site in damp soil. The plant dies down around the beginning of June, and re-appears any time between December to March, depending on weather conditions. Ideal for petite arrangements, but remember that the flowers close up in late afternoon! Prefers water rather than floral foam. |
